Signs on the Earth: Deciphering the Message of Virgin Mary Apparitions, UFO Encounters, and Crop Circles
The Da Vinci Code became a bestseller, conspiracy
theorists everywhere sighed collectively in defeat. There
goes the neighborhood, they said. Next thing you know,
housewives will be reading Holy Blood, Holy Grail.
because a third-rate suspense novelist ruined a perfectly
good crackpot religious theory, don't assume that the
soil is barren. There's still Richard Leviton, who believes
that appearances of the Virgin Mary, UFO sightings and
all those damn crop circles are intimately connected.
Worldwide apocalypse is inevitable, Leviton argues in
this book, but it might not be so bad. Maybe we're evolving.
And maybe the Mary sightings, UFOs and crop circles are
learning exercises, phenomena designed to alter our consciousness
by more highly evolved beings (who live in the Ursa Major
constellation, by the way).
Well, it won't sound so crazy after Dan Brown writes a
book about it, and Tom Hanks stars in the movie.
